Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Wow
Someone stuffed their mittens with bacon, because that's the most ham-fisted thing I've seen in a while.

I'm so glad someone is finally focusing on the future. All this talking about past failures is just so tiring.

And what a great reminder that Alec Baldwin, Michael Moore, the Dixie Chicks and Barbara Streisand all support the Democrats. I had almost forgotten who I'm supposed to be mocking.

Seriously, though, who came up with this crap? It reads like a freshman creative writing assignment. It's all so formulaic and by-the-book. It's depressing to think that there actually is a formula and a book that they're all following. And more depressing to realize that it keeps working.

New The sad thing?
Some will actually find this funny.
Hurt me if you must, but let the duckie go!
New Requires people who have really Drunk the Kool-Aid[tm]
Satire works by telling something near enough to the truth that people recognize the absurdity of the not-quite-rightness. This assumes a common[1] understanding of "the truth". There was quite a bit on that site that I just didn't get. Maybe if I knew the keywords and their "real" meanings better ...

New Kool-Aidaholics
The parts I read seemed to be built on the premise that if the Democrats win in the next election they might try to oppose the president and that alone is behavior that you should outraged by.

Which is terribly silly, but I suspect the author wanted avoid talking about the Democrats even trying to fix any of Bush's mistakes. I didn't see one article talking about Iraq.

New Trust me, the last thing they want to bring up is Iraq
and the giant clusterfuck they've made of things there. Nobody to blame but themselves for that one, so... 'look over there! get that guy! he's just standing there!!!'

New I just realized ...
That site would make a great script for The Daily Show.

New Consider the source, Luke
When was the last time you actually met/heard/saw/ a funny Repo (funny as in 'ha-ha', not funny as in wierd or funny as in pathetic)?

I'm still waiting for my first sighting, and I'm older than you....

Waidamminnit...There was Sen. Everett Dirksen (R-IL) back in the 50's...you know, back when the Republicans really were the party of Lincoln, back before they threw the bit. The exceptions that proves the rule, and all that.

"So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't."

New I know a bunch of them
used to work for a repo/ahem libertarian governor, Wally Hickel of Alaska. His "crew" 4 repos and two demo's were funnier than hell. Also one of the smartest bunches I have worked for, not know it alls but extremely sharp.
thanx,
bill
