Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Is it global warming? June Bugs.
I don't remember how long I've lived here, but 30 years at least. Every year there has been the infestation of beetles, the June Bugs - so numerous and persistent I used to call them the "April May June July Bugs".

Last year there were few. This year there have been none. Nada.

Suddenly there are beetles - lots of beetles. Five on my dinner table at last count even though I'd thrown several out. But they aren't the same beetles.

These new beetles i've never seen before. They're hemispheric, like giant lady bugs but medium brown in color. They fly rather well for beetles.

It's like the Humbolt squid off Northern California. 10 pound squid where there never were before. I'll quote the prof up there, "Something's going on. I don't know what it is but something's going on."

------------

And now a beetle story.

In the summer years ago I retired to bed, along with the girlfriend of the time. Lights out, tucked in - - - and then an ear splitting full throat scream.

I turned on the light to find the cause, and there on the bed (recently abandoned by above mentioned girlfriend) was a gorgeous scarab beetle a full 1-1/2 inches long, resplendent in yellow and black stripes with bottle glass green highlights. Fortunately he was unharmed and I put him out.

I still see a big beetle now and then, but the girlfriend is long gone. Aside from trying to take over my business (I still get magazines addressed to "Txxxx Hxxx Owner", her idea of sex featured a lot of pain - inflicted by her - and very little pleasure, at least for me.

New Very interesting combination of topics. :-D
Be happy they're apparently not [link|http://www.bugspray.com/articles98/ladybugs.html|Lady Bugs]. A friend had an infestation of those in his house for a while - his were a yellowish color rather than the usual red. They apparently hadn't eaten in a while and were hungry. They bite when they're that hungry.

At least she didn't find that Scarab beetle that hungry. :-)

Cheers,
Scott.
New We have earwigs out here
[link|http://www.ivyhall.district96.k12.il.us/4th/kkhp/1insects/earwig.html|http://www.ivyhall.d...sects/earwig.html]

Everywhere. Every year. In the kitchen, in the bathroom, crawling on the bedroom ceilings. One time I found one in the coffee pot. With those freaky pincers... just waiting until I fall asleep so they can crawl into my ear, bore into my brain, and turn me into a mutant earwig zombie...

And I'm sorry. I dont have any sex stories with bugs to share. But I can make something up if you like.

It's for fun.
New S'alright.
You could just build on that... Heehee!

New Well, how about something with reptiles then?
And ex husbands don't count as reptiles, even if they were kinda scaley.

New The only reptile that comes to mind..
...is that pilot I told you about. He was a snake. But there was no sex involved so I guess it's not a very good story.

New Yeah, but . . .
. . that three way anal sex in the cargo bay at 28,000 feet he was alluding to, now that could have been a story.

And your mom is worried about the perverts on IWeThey?

New I *so* thank you for posting that.
I stopped seeing him, didnt I???

New You're the one who brought him up . . .
. . not me - and yes, you're a sensible girl and stayed well away from his nefarious schemes and reptilian clutches.

Yeah, I think it's a good idea you told him to get lost.

Wow. That definitely tops my worst date story...

Edit: Fixed stupid error where I pointed to the ftp directory (which was cached in my browser, natch) instead of the http equivalent.

New Actually, that's an extrapolation by me from . . .
. . insufficient datapoints, so don't take it all too seriously.

On the other hand, taking it seriously is kinda fun.

New Re: We have earwigs out here
Earwigs. Hate 'em. Fire works well - but it *IS* tough on the furniture. However - possibly not too extreme for 'em.

New I actually got bit by one last night
Was sitting outside, it crawled up on the arm of my chair, I put my arm down on it without knowing, felt a sharp pinch, there it was, dangling from my arm with those forcep pinchers. Ugghhh.

I don't think mammals are meant to eat reptiles.
