Microsoft apps constantly promped you to confirm you "really mean" to do something, even when that thing can be undone with a simple ^Z. But this, wiping out whatever history I had and whatever attachments there may have been to various instances of the meeting, is gone without warning.

when I go to delete a recurring appointment in the
calendar it ask when I want to delete the individual
occurance or the entire appointment

He wanted to delete all future occurances, retaining past history. No way to do that - except by going into the schedule and changing the end date - which is not intuitive.
