Re: I am a Rock
And the linkage to Comfortabley Numb is...?
jb4 "So don't pay attention to the approval ratings that say 68% of Americans disapprove of the job this man is doing. I ask you this, does that not also logically mean that 68% approve of the job he's not doing? Think about it. I haven't." — Stephen Colbert, at the White House Correspondent's Dinner 29Apr06

Pretty much the whole song
It is a song about a man who has numbed himself to the world so that he will feel no pain.

Bluer Than Blue
I was going to say, "traditional jazz" and leave it at that. Then I decided that that was a cop-out, so I tried to Google it. And found that I literally can't find reference to the version that I knew from jazz choir back when I was in highschool.
The lyrics that I know start like this:
Bluer than blue I'm all alone and need somebody that's true I'm hoping that you'll come, back to me I need somebody who cares
(This is not the Michael Johnson song with the same name. Based on other songs I learned from the same source I'd guess that this song was probably released in the 30s or 40s.)
Cheers, Ben
