I had a biopsy today
And I'm scared. I have to arrange for labs and an ultrasound next. I'm not going to post all the details, but I'm scared and I needed to tell someone.

Best of luck - luckily most biopsies are false alarms
Particularly with younger women such as yourself. (You may not think of yourself as younger, but for this you are.)
The reason is that breasts change over time. Younger women have more natural variations that look like a potential lump. That's the big reason they don't recommend regular mammograms earlier unless you have a family history of breast cancer.
And, assuming that we're talking about a breast biopsy, your odds of survival are high. Your fear of "OMG, I could DIE!" is very real. That can happen. But we hear about breast cancer because most people survive it, and lots of them go around talking about it.
Still, good odds or no, I'm hoping with you that this scare resolves itself as quickly as possible.
Cheers, Ben

Glad it wasn't a nerdsy.
You really don't want one of those.... :-)
It's good you got it checked out. No matter the news, and it'll likely be negative, it's good to have lumps checked out early.
Don't worry too much. Let us know what you can - we always try to help.
Best wishes!

just checking
nothing to be worried about yet. if the news is good, you wasted all that worry on nothing when you have other things to worry about. :-) if the news is bad, then you have something to form a plan around.
it's probably nothing, but the dr. wants to be sure. unfortunately, there's no way to do that (yet?) without upsetting you first. here's hoping it's nothing to be upset about.

Yeah, I know. Useless sentiment. Still. It's probably nothing, and even if it is something, knowing gives you a leg up on it.

Yeah, all these AMA 'tests' Are scary
- because the monitoring of the labs is ~on a par with the AMA's "monitoring" of their legions: as if all MDs a got A-s, and deserved them / ie the occasional one or two per year, are found to be worthy-of-discipline (OK - the labs just may get a bit more oversight, lately.. I hear.)
Either way - a second opinion might not be a bad idea; sorry if that's not pleasant to hear. Pulling for ya,
Ashton

Dont know
It all happened so fast I didnt even ask. I didnt comprehend what was happening until I got home later that night. I havent heard anything yet and frankly, I'm afraid to call the doctor. No news is good news. I have the rest of the diagnostics set up for Wednesday, so I have to wait at least until then to get all the results. I'm trying not to think about it.

First biopsy negative, 2nd was positive
More tests tomorrow, then we'll discuss treatments. Either way, I think I'm losing my uterus. Hopefully the ovaries can stay. If not, I will be abruptly thrown into menopause and you will see an entirely new level of bitchiness erupting. As long as the cancer is contained, they can take everything out they need to and I will be happy for that.

Like my daddy always said
"I'd rather have it break in half and fall out. That way at least I know what to fix." Of course, he was talking about car engines. I think it works for medical diagnoses though. I'd rather have something with a clear treatment. Good luck.
Oh, and get it taken care of in time for the Bash in July, y'hear?
