I'd like to hear a review on this one. Apparently this "remake" is more true to the Novel than the first movie was. No time travel to the future, it is a planet (not Earth) that has both talking humans and talking apes on it. The Apes seem to outnumber the humans, and then a guy crash-lands on the planet from a nearby space station and the story takes off.
From the previews I've seen, it looks like they made the people playing the Apes look more like Apes than humans in rubber masks. This is most likely due to the computer animation and new make-up technologies. Also having a bigger budget helps as well. Ah yes, the 1960's movies and TV shows that got produced on a budget and computer animation costed a lot or didn't exist like it does now. Every decade they made an advance in special effects, the real breaker for the 1970's was "Star Wars", it set the pace for the rest of them.
When I get back from vacation, I hope to see this movie. I hope that it is worth the $8USD to see it.
