Have you used an antibiotic ointment on it . . .
. . . (any Neosporin clone will do fine at half the price)? I know it's difficult to dab at something like that but it'll help a lot if you work that stuff in.

Yeah, I have it slathered in triple antibiotic
and covered in gauze. I should've had it covered right from the beginning, then I wouldnt have jabbed the stick in it. Stupid, stupid me.

You shouldn't call yourself stupid
Sorry you burned your arm, Laura, I hope it feels better soon and heals fast.
But you shouldn't call yourself stupid, ok? The book I'm reading, called "How to make yourself happy: and remarkably less disturbable", says there are no stupid people, only stupid things. So you aren't stupid for burning your arm, you just did a stupid thing. It's not your fault, per se, because people will always do stupid things from time to time. So take heart, you're just like everyone else in that respect!
Take care,
Brenda

Sorry to burst your bubble
But there are stupid people out there. Lots of them. Different types of stupid. Mentally stupid. Common sense stupid. Klutzy stupid. Momentary stupid. Country hick stupid. Should-not-reproduce stupid. Voter stupid. Computer stupid. Electronics stupid. ... And finally Forrest Gump stupid. Damn I hated that movie.

Well, that's one opinion
I grant there are people out there who behave in stupid fashions, or act stupid. However, I choose to embrace the concept that no one is wholly stupid, every human being is good at something or another.

Already have
I choose to believe that I'm not wholly bad or wholly good, that I'm not wholly smart or wholly stupid. This is what I need to believe right now to be okay, and I choose to believe it about everyone. Every person has some good qualities, including me.

Actually, no, it's a fact

And people who refuse to accept facts are well... stupid.

Thin gauze is probably OK.
Myself I don't cover wounds (even when I cut through to the bone at my knee with a body sander) because I infect instantly. Dry and exposed to the air is what works for me.
The last time I allowed bandages I told the doctor not to use them but he insisted. He had to take the stiches out the next day because of infection. After that he agreed to leave it pretty much uncovered and there were no further complications.
The last time I got stiched up I told the doctor I wouldn't accept bandages, and surprisingly he said that was OK. He did use some sort of spray-on film which caused no problems.

Spray-on film == Newskin
Maybe not brandname, but same concept. Wonderful stuff. I always use it instead of bandaids or bandages.

That stuff burns!
We have it in the house but I'm not using it on this. It's beyond the newskin treatment.

Go see a doctor.
If you look at the St. John's Ambulance guidelines, ANY second degree burn requires medical attention. Obviously, that can be tempered with reality; a blister the size of a chocolate chip doesn't really require medical attention, but yours is waaaay past that.
You need to avoid infection, you need to deal with any infection you may already have, and you need to deal with the fact that improper care of the "egg" could lead to very extensive scarring.
Get thee to your GP or even your local hospital and take care of yourself, fer chrissakes.

Oh yeah?
What are you, a sado-masochist?
About 10 years ago, few months after I had knee surgery, I was out on my roller blades. I came to a hill, and debated a while. Should I try it? It's pretty steep. Oh what the hell, it's not that steep. I went speeding down the hill, lost control, knew I was going down, knew I had to protect the knee, so I went down on my butt. I skidded down that hill on my ass and when I got to the bottom and stood up, my shorts were shredded and so was my ass. The knee however, was fine. I got back in the car, drove to my mom's house because she was nearest to the park. The evening was spent having my mom and her neighbor pull gravel, twigs, fabric and leaves out of my ass because I wouldnt go to the hospital. I cant imagine putting newskin on something like that!
