Welcome to IWETHEY!

New God love you...
'cause you're pissing me off. After the tsunami and now Katrina, you stick your opposable thumb right back up next to your head... Repeat after me, "we are not in control". The kind of hubrus you are displaying is what led to the levees and pumping stations in New Orleans. Your little island wouldn't last too long if there was a good tsunami or asteroid, etc.

Denial isn't just a river in Africa (that floods frequently as well).
Just a few thoughts,

Danno
New Jeez, Danno -
See that trail of ants marching in ranks across the palace floor!
See the little Blue Boy laughing?

Hear the Indra asking, Why laughing?
BB: Don't ask.
I: I ask.
...
...
BB: Former Indras all..!

{Speaking of hubris, weren't we?}

Corrupt language -- inflated imagery, stale metaphors meaningless words -- corrupts thought.
--George Orwell
New Hey Ashton, speak Engrish, will you?
Maintenant, s'il vous plait, parlez vous PLAIN ENGLISH... I see you have a couple of fire ants chewing you up... I almost detect a little righteous indignation on your part (I think you're just still smarting over Roland Weary's death)? Mooohahahahahahahahaha...

As per nature and as per these fora, "we are not in control"... :-O Perhaps IWETHEY is a microcosm of all that is. Intelligence has no direct correlation to survivability. Case closed... so it goes...

Now, you were saying something?
Just a few (Trafalmadorian) thoughts,

Danno
New So what are ya.. a Control Freak?
Think yer febrile tiny mind could sort through the (n+\ufffd)-dimensional save-face-space, twist a few interstices and an aureola or two -- better than Madame Chance with the no-dice cup?

As to poor Roland.. hey! he'd have gotten a better deal in the non-Engrish genuflecting world: at least 17 virgins, a gold-plated supercharged Hum-Vee and a casino where every play was a Winner (+ a mansion to store the swag in).

('Course ol Roland would trade it all in, just to shake hands with Manet or Monet or maybe Wolfgang..) He didn't strike me as fodder for a crass Con$umer-grade Kismet. Y'know?

Stay dry
..or I'll hafta rat ya out to yer Parole Officer. Again.

Om Mane Padme Hom y'all

(Ich spreche kein Englisch, Kapitalistschweine; Ich habe meine eigene Sprache.)
New Better hubris than fatalism
Better to ask what can be changed than hope that a solution may arise. Better to rethink an acceptable level of cost and risk than to envy other people (or reptiles). Better to face death and say "It was fun while it lasted." than to constantly worry.

Yes, the weather or the Nile can't be controlled but that never stopped the ancient Egyptians vacating then remeasuring their farmland. A rethink of defences, contingency plans and acceptable risk may be needed.

I thought I was the morbid, 'glass half empty' person around here.
Matthew Greet

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pishing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourself. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?
