"Although the loss of lives is deeply saddening, this act of God destroyed a wicked city," stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. "From 'Girls Gone Wild' to 'Southern Decadence,' New Orleans was a city that had its doors wide open to the public celebration of sin. From the devastation may a city full of righteousness emerge," he continued.

New Orleans is also known for its Mardi Gras parties where thousands of drunken men revel in the streets to exchange plastic jewelry for drunken women to expose their breasts. This annual event sparked the creation of the "Girls Gone Wild" video series.

"We must help and pray for those ravaged by this disaster, but let us not forget that the citizens of New Orleans tolerated and welcomed the wickedness in their city for so long," Marcavage said. "May this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God," Marcavage concluded.

Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New Yeah, I'm sure the radical Muslims will have a field day
on this too... Allah's wrath against the infidel... oil... yadayada yada.
Just a few thoughts,

Danno

New Morons
"God" must be really busy for "him/her/it/they" to finally get around to destroying the city after 34 years of that celebration. Better late than never I suppose. Morons.

So I suppose "The Big One" will soon hit the west coast and only San Fran will slide off the continent. I wonder what "God" has in store for Toronto what with our gay pride parade, legalized same sex marriages, Sunday shopping, lax mj attitude...

And I think this goes to prove just how much more of a slacker this "God" thing is anyways. Talk about a weak-kneed smiting job! What's with taking the hurricane down a category and shifting it a bit to the east? How about some vengeance?! How about a big flashy show?! Some shock and awe! Something to give the public the "Wow! That guy must be bleeping pissed!" reaction and grovel for forgiveness.

I personally would be most impressed to see "God" fold the city in on itself repeatedly until it was infinitely small and "POP!" out of existence. Now there's some good television!

Gah, fucking religious nutjobs!
lister
New well we wouldnt miss toronto as much :-)
what is untoward and unspoken by this crank its really the race mixing and catholics in New Orleans more than the gays.
thanx,
bill
"the reason people don't buy conspiracy theories is that they think conspiracy means everyone is on the same program. Thats not how it works. Everybody has a different program. They just all want the same guy dead. Socrates was a gadfly, but I bet he took time out to screw somebodies wife" Gus Vitelli

New I wondered about that
Wondered when the crazy religious freaks would come out and start chanting it was God's punishment.

God said there would be floods and famines, fires and earthquakes, (not quoting this exactly because I don't like Revelation), and nation would turn against nation... this is nothing new, it was always coming...

But even I, as a Christian, cannot condone those who say it was God's punishment of a sinful city. For me, God is a merciful God, a loving God... who allows things to happen, yes, and why, we may never know. But bottom line for me is that NO ONE DESERVED TO BE DESTROYED IN SUCH A FASHION and those religious freaks who are chanting all that balderdash... well they know where they can go straight to.
