Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Dunno what your problem with NeoOffice is.
Starts slow, but then again so does the native C version.

Once it's up it works just fine. My son uses it for all of his school work. A word processor isn't the sort of thing I'm going to sweat a long startup time over, since it's open a lot longer than that.
Regards,

-scott anderson

New I don't even use regular office for anything
Apple TextEdit is a great little WP and handles most all my needs.

For more I have Pages. I'm using Excel for Project Mgt at work until I finish the fancy Objective C/CLIPS based tool I'm building, otherwise, I don't need Office type suites so I can't get excited about something that takes a long time to start and consumes lots of memory.

For spreadsheets at home I'm still using AppleWorks.

New That's not a problem with NeoOffice
It's why you don't use it, which is different. The way you go on about it though you'd think it was diced Satan spleen in a lead-lined can.

New ICLRPD. (new thread)
Created as new thread #219623 titled [link|/forums/render/content/show?contentid=219623|ICLRPD.]
New That and it takes too long to start
Apps have to start fast. This, BTW, is why I don't use emacs and prefer vi also.

Plus its a ram pig.

New I leave apps running.
So startup speed isn't an issue. I've got the same copy of emacs up right now that I had 20 days ago.
