Say what you want about the evils of Starbucks
But I'm sitting here drinking some home brewed espresso made from Starbucks beans and I'm happier than a pig in mud. Mmmmmmmm. Good coffee.

What evils?
I love the South Park Whorebucks episode. Tweaks parent's are about to be put out of business by the new Whorebucks in town. Ends up that while everyone may have had an emotional attachment to the local coffee shop, their coffee sucked compared to the Whorebucks.

OK I will
they can't make a decent espresso to save their lives. Invariably their espresso has all the enjoyment of burned toast (similar flavor too). McCoffee is a term that sums up their quality nicely.
I got spoiled in Paris I think.
SB is always my last choice.
Tully's is decent as is Seattle's Best. Neither are awesome though.

Come to think of it
It does taste kind of burnt. But I like that. Burnt hotdogs, flaming marshallows...send 'em to hell and bring 'em back when they're black and crispy. That's what I say.
It's like, "How much more black could this be?", and the answer is none. None more black.

Starbucks? Evil?
When the choice is available I'm a Peet's kinda guy myself, but "burnt" espresso or no, Starbucks has brought decent coffee to parts of the country where this delicacy was unknown twenty years ago. Many of you insolent young pups weren't drinking the blood of the bean back then, but I was, and I remember... On a roadtrip today one has a reasonable expectation of finding potable coffee, yea, even in West Bumfuck. It was not always so. You won't catch me sneering at the green-and-white.
Also, they market a canned creation called a "Double Shot," a guilty pleasure of mine, that ought to be a controlled substance.

I like the Double Shot, too
And their bottled frappachino. I'll usually slam one of those down while waiting for my morning coffee to brew.

1 Frappuccino == 1/2 Whopper
I'd rather eat the burgers.

Her regular order used to be a Frappuccino, a blended coffee-milk drink that can be flavored with mocha syrup, chocolate syrup, caramel, chocolate chips or toffee, until she checked the Starbucks nutritional info. A mocha Frappuccino has 290 calories, 4 grams of fat and 58 grams of carbohydrates (48 from sugar).

Big Mac is 590 cal with 34g fat
The venti white chocolate mocha is over 600.
YOW!
Edit: OK I actually did research.

No, not the drinks they whip up in the stores
That's like drinking lard in a cup. The little bottled drinks are made with lowfat milk- they're under 200 calories and quite good.
