Re: A hint for you
"A place where a substantial fraction of the population saw with their own eyes what happened to the WTC."
Actually, a lot of people describe seeing missiles.

Nobody that I know
And I <b>lived there</b>.\r\n\r\nOTOH I know a lot of people who described a big plane flying down over Manhattan, making sure that everyone who was looking at that spectacle got a good chance to realize what it was doing, before it slammed into the building.\r\n\r\nChallenge for you. Go to NYC. Walk the streets. Stop random strangers and ask them whether they saw with their own eyes what happened to the second building. The ones that say "Yes", ask them what they saw. I'll bet that you get to 10 who saw a plane before you find any that think they saw missiles.\r\n\r\nReally. Your theory doesn't even pass the giggle test for anyone who actually lived in that city on September 11, 2001. And it doesn't hold water for anyone with a brain and the ability to talk to strangers who is willing to visit NYC. I know a lot of people who watched it happen. They very consistently describe a plane.\r\n\r\nNobody that I know says that they saw anything else.\r\n\r\nRegards,\r\nBen

Let's examine the possibilities
At this point there are 4 possibilities.\r\n<ol>\r\n<li> I am lying.\r\n<li> You are lying.\r\n<li> I am delusional.\r\n<li> You are delusional.\r\n</ol>\r\nThese are the only possibilities because I'm telling you flat out, I'm from NYC and there is no way that your story is true. I also believe that everyone else here will have no trouble ruling out options 1 and 3 because they know me.\r\n\r\nWhether you're lying or delusional doesn't much matter to me. (I suspect lying.) I know that you're doing one or the other, and that doesn't leave much room for productive conversation. So I'm not going to bother trying any more.\r\n\r\nFeel free to say anything you want. I won't bother responding again. You aren't worth the effort.\r\n\r\nSincerely,\r\nBen

Not intentionally...
I think I have it figured out. When I previewed, the page hung. I finally said to save without changes.
I'm guessing that I never got the part of the page at the bottom that included the hidden form fields with my preferences for the post, so they got lost for one post.
Cheers, Ben

No you haven't.
And you didn't live there.
Nor did you know anyone who died in the buildings.
Nor do you know anyone who spent 2 months on the ground zero cleaning crew.
Nor have you met or spoken to anyone that directly witnessed the event.
But you sure do know your confetti.
I'll be sending you a postcard. On it will be a picture of this planet. On the back it will say..."Wish you were here".
We now re-join reality...already in progress.

Question for you
What do you think about the shuttles Challenger and Discovery? Did one really explode on lift-off and the other burn up on re-entry? There's a reason I ask. Those events and this one have a surprising number of similarities. - Dramatic events with worldwide coverage.
- Loss of life.
- Live TV coverage.
- Huge government investigations with:
- Some finger-pointing.
- Evidence of beureaucrats ignoring warnings.
- Recommendation for reforms, some of which were enacted.
Oh, and one other thing: Some people don't believe any of it happened. There are people who believe -- or profess to believe -- that the entire space program is a fraud. They write books and websites claiming to "debunk" the "lies". Do you agree with these people? If you think that those people are nutters, but you are rational, consider one of the most compelling arguments against what they say: Just how many people would have to be lying for the fraud to be perpetuated? Your pet conspiracy theory is in for a rougher road than the NASA-is-a-fraud one, though. There's one key ingredient a good conspiracy theory needs that yours is sorely lacking: the people in a position to know aren't talking. At least when it comes to NASA, while there are thousands of people who worked on various projects, there are only a couple of dozen who claim they were actually on the moon, and the ones who don't were still on the payroll. But people who saw the planes hit the towers are all over the damn place.
