Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Finale to my turkey report
My family (parents, 2 sisters, their husbands, and an uncle) showed up at a place called Grey's Cafeteria in Indianapolis.

NO TURKEY!? This place had liver, chicken, beef, but, unbelievably (at least to me), no turkey. Well, okay, I took corn, mashed potatos, and chicken. Halfway through the meal I started feeling wretched, and as I finished I was visibly shaking. (I first was blaming this on the stress of fighting winds as I made the two hour drive, but eventually I had to admit it must have been something else/more.) I don't know if it was the food or some other bug, but the drive home in the rain was quite the adventure; more than once I thought about just stopping at a motel and crashing for the day.

It gets better. Make it home I did, to find out my hot water heater seems to be on the blink. Arrrrrrrr.

New Next time try
The fairly famous one (whose name natch I don't recall) in Bloomington - maybe even closer depending on yer family's vectors.

A slice of '50s, including decor - which is at least authentic. I was smitten by the overall quality of the food and recipes, generous servings and friendly folk serving. When I was regularly visiting friend at IU - made it a point to go there at least every few days. (Their fish was better than many presentations of fancy re$taurants everywhere). Old-fashioned American integrity as is now honored mostly by absence, and the death-march of Corp chains.

I'll bet They had ^%#$%@ Turkey!
