Ok, folks...
We're never going to get any new people around here if the first thing that comes up is the whole "Norm" issue.
Miranda, we had a particularly psychotic individual who used to hang around here named Norm. He would post under multiple accounts to make himself look attacked, threatened to commit suicide on a regular basis, anything to draw attention to himself. He did this so much that many of the regulars here now automatically don't trust ANY new account from ANYBODY, without proof that the person is who they say they are.
"Here at Ortillery Command we have at our disposal hundred megawatt laser beams, mach 20 titanium rods and guided thermonuclear bombs. Some people say we think that we're God. We're not God. We just borrowed his 'SMITE' button for our fire control system."

Ditto that
And Miranda, I was there once too.... in your position.

Edit: P.S. On that note, it's time for a new sig. :)

To that end...
All we'd like to know is if you are really someone NEW. Not a re-hash of old personae.
Some of us would like and e-mail to a trusted known individual (Like me, they know I exist and after all, we are using my hosting :)
Once that trusted person(s) confirm real existance not merely and alias, this type of harshness will go away.
If you like, some of use have clickable e-mail addresses in their signature block... (hint hint, mine does)
Sorry, but the jerk in the knee-jerk is still quite fresh in many other's minds. For that I am truly sorry that you have to bear the bad fruits of another's brutal attempts to draw attention to themselves.

Paranoid much?
I am not going to go through my time here suspicious of any new poster till proven worthy. That sucks. I will accept them at face value and let their actions speak for themselves. I don't need anyone to vouch for them. I don't even care if it *is* another persona of Norm's. Play nice and so will I. Act the jerk and get blown off.

Just enough, actually
I am not going to go through my time here suspicious of any new poster till proven worthy. That sucks. I will accept them at face value and let their actions speak for themselves. I don't need anyone to vouch for them. I don't even care if it *is* another persona of Norm's. Play nice and so will I. Act the jerk and get blown off. Well everyone has to do what works for them. However, some of us have been burned and messed with a lot worse and more dramatically than others, so each person has to choose how to handle said "situation." Brenda

Does it matter?
If she(?) wants to post, she will. I think the right kind of person will regard proving her identity as a worthy challenge. In that light, proving it by e-mail to Greg is cheating.
(Personally, I am sure it is not Norm - I was only teasing. The style is very diffirent from Norm's lugubrious pompousness. I don't think Norm used "LOL" once here :) )

Q. I think I need to see a specialist, but my doctor insists he can handle my problem. Can a general practitioner really perform a heart transplant right in his/her office? A. Hard to say, but considering that all you're risking is the $20 co-payment, there's no harm in giving it a shot.

Maybe not here,
But in other places, as other persona's, most notably female, he threw that in a few times to be more "convincing."
I'm not sure of anything where he's concerned, to be truthful.

I was getting ready to post this...
The level of paranoia here is ridiculous. Norm is not everybody, and everybody is not Norm.
Please stop with the asinine accusations and implications. Norm is fairly easy to spot for me; let me take care of it, OK folks?
This reminds me of the whole SHILL!! mania too.

Things have been squirrelly today, network wise.
Quite frequently today I've been having trouble with "Waiting for z.iwethey.org.." messages in Mozilla that time out. Similarly with other sites. :-(
I wrote the reply on one PC, submitted it, Scroll-Lock Scroll-Lock to the other PC and saw it was there in the forum. I did some stuff, went back to the first PC and went to a different page and hit refresh on z. I wasn't on the Edit page. I got a popup saying "... Post message ... Are you sure?" It seemed a little strange, but I said OK. Then it timed out. So I did it again, same popup. And low and behold I had 2 more of the same replies posted.
I'll learn...
Cheers, Scott.

Ya know
if this wouldn't hit so many nerves, this could almost qualify for an LRPD: Norm is not everybody, and everybody is not Norm.

I never claimed Norm
I merely said BS on the Google random occurrence. I was thinking "Barbara", or whoever she is, but again, not sure of anything. At least Barbara started off asking questions in an academic fashion.
