Here's a good place.
But, no, we didn't get one - yet. It's on my plate but towards the back now. We'd still love to be able to do this, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't read your other post yet, but it's next :-)

Yes, have it working...
....you running V5R2 or better? Have LPP 5722ss1 option 33? (free LPP).... If so, you can get it working easily. CALL QP2TERM is your friend....

Okie-doke. Where does one get a C compiler?
That runs in the PASE environment that is. IBM is telling us that we have to buy one from them. Is that true? When we do the q2term bit, we get a "no suitable C compiler found" message of some sort.
Is there a way to install a C compiler in that environment w/out buying one from IBM?
(I'm only partly helping on this - one of the 400 goobs is trying to get it to work ;-)

Thanks. But this is an iSeries
and it's not running Linux, but PASE. I'll look into it though.

Re: Okie-doke. Where does one get a C compiler?
Mike,
On some boxes I do have the IBM compiler, but on others I have implemented the AIX version of gcc and this works fine (though is officially unsupported so as to drive customers to buy the compiler).
In addition, there is a PRPQ (5799-PTL) that you might find useful for doing things in QSHELL or PASE:
[link|http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/enable/site/porting/tools/|http://www-1.ibm.com...te/porting/tools/] [link|http://www-919.ibm.com/developer/factory/tools/list.html|http://www-919.ibm.c...y/tools/list.html]
I believe the PRPQ costs around $100.

Thanks a ton.
I tried an AIX version of gcc and got an error saying something like "compiler is unable to make executables". I'll read the links (or forward them).
Thanks again for all the help.
More importantly, I hope all is well with your daughter.
