New And the counter-evidence is so freaking clear
The societal problem is child worship, an unrealistic image of children as pure, innocent and unable to lie or make up stories.
Take your average 2-year-old. Just barely able to talk. Put him in a room with a cookie jar and tell him not to eat any. Go away for five minutes. Come back in while he's got one in each hand and crumbs all over his face and ask him if he ate any.

No, they learn to lie all on their own. Not lying is the thing that has to be taught.

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
New Lying as a sign of linguistic ability....

Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.
