Those have always baffled me too...

...but, FWIW (from the Department for Wild Speculation), I've always felt the "guitar ... CHEESE?!?" one could have been something someone said at one of BeeP's fourth-of-July get-togethers.

This is probably totally wrong, and likely inspired by nothing more than BeeP's guitar-toting self-portrait here, but who cares -- as long as it gives me *something* to hang a rationalization on?
