I Forgot that anything that moves or makes pulses - is apt to remain stock for about as long as you take to complete the shopping list ;-) Greg, yer a Crank!
(Guess I gotta find a couple old links - re the twin-Lightning s/charged land speed record design (cigar shaped)). I saw pix of the meticulous workmanship ~ 3? years ago. It was definitely aircraft quality assembly and with many clever approaches to fitting the bits & pieces to achieve a decent CG and also polar moment.
Some old cycle buddies I recognized in the list - had donated pieces from precious stock of original factory bits, including at least one bit I'm sure I once had.. 'Vibrac' steel polished rods and forged cranks, the usual expensive-metal upgrades etc.
Now I gotta look it up, though I think I'd have heard if it made the mark -- you follow any of this Record stuff? Ugh; "Big Sid's" site at duke.edu seems to have disappeared. It had a lot of links du jour. [link|http://www.dropbears.com/m/models/classic/vinad53.htm| Google] [link|http://www.allenmuseum.com/shadow.htm| time]. I guess. It'd be Fun for a kinda-Vincent to eclipse all the Corp guys, natch.
