Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Do you think these a**holes really believe this?
Emphasis Mine.

"We do view Google more and more as a competitor. We believe that we can provide consumers with a better product and a better user experience. That's something that we're actively looking at doing," Bob Visse, director of marketing for Microsoft's MSN Internet services division, said.

They can't really believe this, can they?

bcnu,
Mikem

Osama bin Laden's brother could fly in US airspace 9/15/01, but I had to wait for FBI and CIA background checks, 'nuff said?
New Sure they can.
That's the interesting thing about belief.

On another note, the last paragraph was interesting... Google has no intention of doing an IPO. It 'pears that they want to control their own destiny.

New Absolutely
Microsoft can always assure a better user experience, even if it requires making the other experience worse.

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
New Of course they believe it
after all, they drink their own Kool-aid. :)

But anyway, I got a feeling they will make a interface like Apple's Sherlock, so that there is a client for Windows to interface with the new search engine.

BTW didn't Microsoft own [link|http://www.snap.com/|http://www.snap.com/] which was a search engine at one time? But now it points to NBCi? Did they sell it? Or am I confused over who owned it?

With Longhorn being made, [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=93211|Windows is doomed?] Longhorn will have a version of SQL Server 2003 built in and will need a master server to work with. What if Microsoft makes the default search of Longhorn go to Microsoft's search engine?

Most likely Microsoft may have to buy out another company like it did when it bought out Hotmail when it needed a web email company.
