New Interesting mix from the jingoistic to the surreal.
But several pointed out the presence of cars later than '91 (actually late '90) in the questionable footage. Also a more relevant screed:

Arafat Thugs Censored Footage of Joyful
Palestinians

The Foreign Press Association today denounced
efforts by the Palestinian Authority to prevent
coverage of Arabs rejoicing at the terrorist
attacks on the United States.

A small demonstration by despicable anti-American
fanatics in East Jerusalem was broadcast around
the globe, but coverage of a much bigger rally in
Palestinian-administered Nablus was foiled by
police and other armed men - and by threats from
Yasser Arafat's Palestinian Authority, the press
association said.

This is the same Arafat who created a cute little
photo opportunity for himself by donating a pint
of blood, supposedly to the terror victims - as if
there were any way to get his blood to New York.

The FPA said today that "police forces and armed
gunmen tried to prevent photo and video coverage
of Tuesday's rally in Nablus. ... We strongly
condemn the direct threats made against local
videographers by local militia members and the
attitude of Palestinian officials who made no
effort to counter the threats, control the
situation, or to guarantee the safety of the
journalists and the freedom of the press."

An Associated Press photographer who took pictures
of the celebrations received phone calls from
people who identified themselves as members of
Arafat's Tanzim militia group and who said they
could not guarantee his safety if the pictures
were published, an FPA source said.

Two senior Palestinian officials later phoned the
AP office in Jerusalem and expressed "concern"
over the photographer's safety if the pictures
were published, the source added.

The terroristic censors got their way; the
pictures were not published.

Associated Press bureau chief Dan Perry told
United Press International that "there was a very
real danger to the cameraman, and we acted to
protect the safety of our staff."

The Foreign Press Association statement added: "We
call on the PA to ensure freedom of the press and
the free flow of information and to prevent
elements operating within PA jurisdiction from
making or carrying out threats that aim to impede
this and effectively impose censorship. We hold
the PA fully responsible for the safety of each
and every journalist operating within their areas,
especially those who were filming and covering
Tuesday's events in Nablus."

There was no comment from the thugs at the
Palestinian Authority.
Amidst the expected extreme statements were a few which went to the root: if we knee-jerk into sending Afghanistan + occupants back to stone age - that will be a 100% guarantee of much more and worse as shall follow precisely in the Israel/Palestine endless loop.

We would also then miss the points about bin Ladin's wide-ranging plans for the long term, as Doug Marker set out in his linked post. This matter won't yield even to megatons; only to years of actual multinational cooperation: it's about Fundamentalist aim to creat havoc, prevail and construct new Theocracies. (Just as our home-grown Fundament-alists would like a Theocracy here, having begun via inflitration of school boards)

Methinks: patience next? or Israel / Palestine / Murica added.
