Most mice can impersonate either a Logi- or an EmEff- mouse, IIUC -- except of course for EmEff mice, which as usual for EmEff products can't even concieve of any software besides EmEff's own even existing. Last time I installed Logitech's software, it wanted to install MusicMatch jukebox thingies and something to actively spam the user with "interesting offers". No tar.
