New Strange company, Box!
NY Times: What, Exactly, Is Tulsi Gabbard Up To?
As she injects chaos into the 2020 Democratic primary by accusing her own party of “rigging” the election, an array of alt-right internet stars, white nationalists and Russians have praised her.

Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former chief strategist, is impressed with her political talent. Richard B. Spencer, the white nationalist leader, says he could vote for her. Former Representative Ron Paul praises her “libertarian instincts,” while Franklin Graham, the influential evangelist, finds her “refreshing.”

And far-right conspiracy theorists like Mike Cernovich see a certain MAGA sais quoi.

“She’s got a good energy, a good vibe. You feel like this is just a serious person,” Mr. Cernovich said. “She seems very Trumpian.”

Among her fellow Democrats, Representative Tulsi Gabbard has struggled to make headway as a presidential candidate, barely cracking the 2 percent mark in the polls needed to qualify for Tuesday night’s debate. She is now injecting a bit of chaos into her own party’s primary race, threatening to boycott that debate to protest what she sees as a “rigging” of the 2020 election. That’s left some Democrats wondering what, exactly, she is up to in the race, while others worry about supportive signs from online bot activity and the Russian news media.

Perhaps strangest of all is the unusual array of Americans who cannot seem to get enough of her.

On podcasts and online videos, in interviews and Twitter feeds, alt-right internet stars, white nationalists, libertarian activists and some of the biggest boosters of Mr. Trump heap praise on Ms. Gabbard. They like the Hawaiian congresswoman’s isolationist foreign policy views. They like her support for drug decriminalization. They like what she sees as censorship by big technology platforms.

A spotlight on the people reshaping our politics. A conversation with voters across the country. And a guiding hand through the endless news cycle, telling you what you really need to know.

Then there is 4chan, the notoriously toxic online message board, where some right-wing trolls and anti-Semites fawn over Ms. Gabbard, calling her “Mommy” and praising her willingness to criticize Israel. In April, the Daily Stormer, a neo-Nazi website, took credit for Ms. Gabbard’s qualification for the first two Democratic primary debates.
You are aware of her position on Israel?

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

-- Isaac Asimov
New Seems obvious: She is - or the GOP want her to be - 2020's Nader / Stein / Perot, a spoiler.
New yes, I am aware of many of her postions and disagree with some of them
The main one is she has been in a combat zone and could still be called up if they send the hawaii guard on deployment. She would go.

Healthcare and the poor are things I support as well

New If Tulsi is called up
I hope that Turkish artillery spotters will lob a round right on top of her. Honestly, box, I ought to have known that you were that deluded and depraved.
New cheese rand youda think a krishna type stole the grapes out of your begging bowl
is there a backstory for all the hatred?

New Not hatred. Contempt.
Any rational* person examining Gabbard’s history and public record would conclude that you wouldn’t want her for dogcatcher.

*this excludes you, of course.
New contempt away so what is the major issue besides her knowing the second verse of the
hari krishna fight song and her ethnicity?

what is it about her listed issues and accomplishments that a wrong?

It's mourning in America again.
New response from her campaign email
Another day, another smear piece by the DNC establishment and corporate media elite. Look what the folks who will be acting as so-called neutral "moderators" in Tuesday’s debate said about us, William, in yesterday’s NYT hit piece "What, Exactly, is Tulsi Gabbard Up to?:"
snip skipping the nyt headline jpg
This greatest hits against Tulsi piece goes on to describe our movement of, by and for the people as comprised of white nationalists, conspiracy theorists, neo-nazi’s, right wing trolls and anti-semites. These disgusting accusations are not only false, they show just how far the corporate media is willing to go to discredit Tulsi, and to smear our campaign.

We cannot let this stand, William. What the corporate media elite claim to find “strange” or claim makes us “unusual,” is quite simple: Like Tulsi, our movement does not conform to establishment labels. We do not represent the divisive identity-politics-driven status quo. United by our love of country and for each other, in pursuit of peace, and with aloha for all, there is nothing we cannot overcome together. We are rising above the divisive partisan rhetoric and the narrow lanes of the status quo to create a country truly of, by and for the people.

Will you join me today in showing we will not take these attacks lying down? Chip-in $12 — or whatever you can afford today —
snip more donationspeak
here’s nothing "strange" about the fact that Tulsi has as many supporters watching Fox News as she does watching CNN. Tulsi’s appeal to our common humanity — regardless of party, religion, race or background — is the exact reason why she is the only candidate who can beat Donald Trump in the general election. She is the only candidate who understands firsthand the cost of war, and is willing to take on the military industrial complex to end regime change wars, the new Cold War and nuclear arms race. She’s the only candidate who is considering boycotting the DNC debate to bring attention to how they are — once again — hijacking our democratic primary system, putting their finger on the scale for establishment candidates with high name recognition, bypassing the role of the voters in vetting our next commander in chief
snip donation speak
These establishment attacks are not going away any time soon. So long as Tulsi keeps speaking truth to power, rattling the cage of the DC elite, we will be a target for vile media smears like yesterday’s New York Times piece and the baseless biased attacks from Hillary Clinton establishment shills like Neera Tanden who is quoted in yesterday’s NYT piece as saying about Tulsi’s progressive platform: "She’s taken a series of policy steps which signal to the right that she has deep areas of alignment."

Let’s be clear: Tulsi’s policies work for all Americans. To build a green energy economy, end our dependence on fossil fuel and nuclear power, protect our air and water, craft a healthcare system that puts people over profits, make education both affordable and relevant to our world today and — most of all — end the regime change wars, the new Cold War and nuclear arms race that cost us trillions. She can do this BECAUSE she’s able to work with people from across the political spectrum, not in spite of it. That ability to find common ground rather than sow division is what is so sorely missing in our politics today. It’s the reason we’re fighting to make Tulsi our commander in chief.

Tulsi has never caved to doing what is politically popular if that means not doing what is right for we, the people. She is not deterred by this fight, and neither are we.

Thank you for all that you do,
emphasis mine
