New Er, yeah.
Martin writes slow enough that there is potential for a real problem should the TV Series catch up to the yet-to-be-published books. Fortunately, both Martin and the makers of the series are aware of this problem.

New when Stephen King crashed and burned
It was obvious he cashed the checks before the books were written, then simply had to toss some crap out to hit the publishing deadline.
