But even if we used the Vietnamese equivalents of "John (or Jane) Doe," a quick calculation suggests that a similarly-proportioned wall would have to be two miles long and seventy feet high at its center point. Damn straight this country needs to face up to its atrocities past and ongoing. It never has. Regarding Vietnam, the USA looks back on the conflict with a mixture of self-pity and belligerent Dolchstoßlegende.
