New Expect to see a lot of this
http://thinkprogress...dy-hit/?mobile=nc
In a Wall Street Journal op-ed on Thursday, GOP fundraiser and former strategist Karl Rove claims that Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the eastern seaboard a week before Election Day, was “lucky” for President Obama in his successful bid for reelection.
Expect to see a lot of this as a way to avoid anybody taking the fall. I don't think it will stick, but I expect a bunch of the pundits and GOP insiders to run with it. Rove needs to jump on this hard because his own work in channeling money from the rich didn't achieve much except lining Rove pocket.

New Wait...
Isn't most of the Eastern Seaboard made up of "Blue States"?

I don't see how that could be good for Obama.

New Crisis is good for the president
None of the states hammered where going to go for Romney anyway, so whatever reduction in the overall vote happened didn't change the electoral vote. It did, however, give Obama a chance to look very presidential and people tend to line up behind the president during a crisis.

Heck, since Republicans tend to more of followers then Democrats, you could make the case that more are going to be inclined to vote for a Democrat in a crisis then Democrats who would be inclined to vote for a Republican president during a crisis.

It also helped that Obama and FEMA did a much better job then the disaster that happened after Katrina. Looking presidential is nice, actually being presidential is even better.
