I've got a Fujitsu FI-5120C high-speed scanner. It works great, but the software that came with it got mangled. (Among other things, it includes a full version of Adobe Acrobat 6). So, I tried to reinstall the software.
No go.
One must uninstall the TWAIN driver (called "Scanner Utility for Microsoft Windows") before the TWAIN drivers can be reinstalled. It wouldn't fully uninstall. Grr.
I tried regedit with the tips here - http://techtips.salo...windows-2454.html
Nope. Still won't fully uninstall.
Multiple reboots, running PC Tool's Registry Mechanic didn't clean up the remainders enough to have the TWAIN installer run.
Grr.
Then I came across the end of this thread (which said that one would have to reinstall the OS, of course) - http://answers.micro...7f87bb2775?page=2
Way down at the bottom it said he solved his problem with the Revo Uninstaller freeware.
And what do you know - it worked! Excellent stuff.

Cheers,
