New Getting a OpenBSD ISO?
I want to play with OpenBSD.

So I go to the web site: [link|http://www.openbsd.com/|http://www.openbsd.com/]
and then go to "Getting", ie: [link|http://www.openbsd.com/orders.html|http://www.openbsd.com/orders.html].

Huh? I want to DL an ISO, not give them any money. If I like it, money may follow.

So I then track down the DL sites:
[link|http://www.openbsd.com/ftp.html|http://www.openbsd.com/ftp.html]

which then leads me to [link|ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/|ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/], when I then go to the most recent 3.7/i386 dir.

So I then start reading the INSTALL.i386, which says multiple times that I should be installing from a CDROM.

But the "*.iso" images in that dir are tiny, they seem to be all boot/driver stuff, not the "installable package" cd that I THINK I'm looking for.

Have I missed something?

I DLed the whole dir to my local system, assuming I'm going to end up setting up a local FTP install point, but I'd prefer not to.

Any hints?
New Try this:
You might be able to get it from a torrent at:

[link|http://linuxtracker.org/torrents-search.php?search=OpenBSD|http://linuxtracker....hp?search=OpenBSD]

Also, try here:
[link|http://openbsd.sabotage.org/|http://openbsd.sabotage.org/]

there's a pertinent bit of info on that page:
The OpenBSD team does not offer a downloadable ISO CD-ROM image of the operating system. However, they do allow third parties to create and ISO image and offer it, but it must have a different layout than the "official one".

New Thanks
I'll do it the "official" FTP way.
New Painless FTP install
Well, not exactly painless.
Seemed like a 1st cut slackware install where I had to plug in the disk layout by hand.

But the FTP portion is going along just fine.
New Open ports?
PORT STATE SERVICE
13/tcp open daytime
22/tcp open ssh
37/tcp open time
113/tcp open auth

ssh is fine, but is there a reason for the others?
Seems silly for a default install.
New Yep, most OpenBSD users
Use the OpenBSD machines for network time and identd for ssh. Doing reverse checks to make sure things are valid.

But you can disable them if you want to.

Remember this is the rc-conf style of init. Not the sysvinit style.

It's a bunch of RVs, yurts, tepees, and geodesic domes set up in a field and organized by consensus.
