Got that too. I usually get assigned to look things up for certain problems at work. Of course these people sometimes don't appreciate that this can take some time occasionally. :-)

Sometimes I even surprise myself with what I can find with little to no concrete starting information. I had vague memories of "Battle of the Planets" from when I was young. I couldn't remember the names of the show, characters and even any plot points. I could just remember certain images like the ship and some of the character visuals. It's something that has bothered me for years until I finally sat down and went looking for it. Thirty minutes later I had the information on the series from starting with just the few visual image descriptions as search criteria.

New Same here
I'm the "blood hound" when they need information here at work.

I start most of my searches at [link|http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?hl=en|Google Groups Advanced Search](formerly Deja), where I can dig through the usenet discussion forums. It's amazing how many people are unaware of these groups, but it's been one of my staples since I started using the internet in the late 80s.
