Welcome to IWETHEY!

New So are the net-installs (once it gets to stable)
Once Sarge is released as stable it'll be as repeatable as ever.

Pretty much, the whole responses file you can setup with Sarge is repeatable.

What is not to like?

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
New And by then it's too late :)
The reason I can't use "stable" is the kernel revision is too old to support RAID controllers, so I'd have to use a 3rd party installer with a more recent kernel - not quite the definition of "stable". Actually, that's what I had started to do when I ran into the RAID controller init problem and I turned to Sarge for a fix, bit it had the same problem.

Fortunately this CD-ROM screw-up has been fixed in the binary i386-1 dated 3-14-05 and the install went fine this morning.

In this case I'm doing two machines that are supposed to be identical, but they'll be built up to 2 months apart, so the CD install method is my preference.

If the people speak and the king doesn't listen, there is something wrong with the king. If the king acts precipitously and the people say nothing, something is wrong with the people.
