With the new mother board and RAID array properly initialized, I started setting up Debian Sarge. All went fine thorough partition, Base system and reboot.
Setup for host/domain and user/password goes fine, then Sarge asks for apt source. I put CD #2 in the drive and select "cdrom". Sarge says:
"This program was unable to auto-detect a CD-ROM drive, or there is no usable CD in the drive"
It shows a default device of /dev/cdrom but apparently that's not where the CD lives because it doesn't even look at it - no blink of the CD light. Oh, yeah, the CD-ROM drive is Master on Primary IDE.
The CD-ROM was identified by model number on start-up (found in /var/log/messages).
Anybody got a hint here?
