Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Lists
Debian-Boot for Sarge
Debian-User for Woody though it being enhanced might null it.

You should stick with the Sarge install...

BTW, which version of the Installer are you using? There is a new one created everyday. Plus the Release Candidates.

[link|http://lists.debian.org|Murphy the do-all server] has places for list signups. Be warned, Both Debian-User and Debian-Boot are heavy on the volume.

if you wan't the e-mail addresses as All debian lists are open, make sure you say "please CC me, I am not subscribed" if you don't subscribe.
  • debian-boot@lists.debian.org
  • debian-user@lists.debian.org

Thing they will need to know:
  • Architecture: Sparc, x86, Alpha, etc.
  • Motherboard Chipsets
  • Raid Controllers models and firmware versions
  • Debian-Installer Version (for sarge) and where it was retrieved from
  • Process to repeat the problem, if repeatable
  • An open mind to some words that might be deemed at a bit harsh, they just need and want the facts.
Not a comprehensive list, but it should get you something.

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
