I found one doing a web search, or a set rather, but I kinda don't want to pay $36 for it. I'd prefer something just close. I'm actually toying with using the basic design for Access forms.

Most of the computer display text in 2001 was "microgamma extra- bold extended" font, available still, as a 'press- on' type of lettering. [edit note: appears the font is called microgramma (not microgamma as this source says). The main screens with the TLCs (three letter codes) and the zero-g toilet were a wide variation of Eurostile (normal and bold). BTW Kubrick was obsessed with fonts, so he would be proud of you :) -drl

Sounds like it was based on the paste-up lettering common at the time which makes some sense. We in archaeology were still using that for maps and such pretty recently. I really liked the displays from the film, especially after looking at them again in the DVD and among various web sites. The lettering was clear and easily readable. Here's some links on HAL, 2001, etc. I came across while looking into this. The HAL screensaver is really pretty neat. I.e., say I make a query called qrySomeSQL that says: Select table1.var1, table2.var2 From table1 WHERE table1.var1=12345; I want to be able to substitute anything I want for '12345' when calling it from a procedure. I tried making a recordset within the procedure, but the SQL string I use it in doesn't recognize it (i.e., "Select rstTest.var1. . .")
