Hmmm I had this problem

Companies that went out of business and etc, although no dot.coms.

I handled it by listing the company and person I worked for, and indicating that the company was out of business on the application, but not the resume.

If I had a contact from one of the dead companies, I listed that also. It's not your fault the companies closed.
