Anyhow, if the cover is simply a metaphore, then they should simply confescate the book, not keep you from the flight. Now, if the book was ABOUT making bombs, that is another matter.
A lot of WW II books have bombs on the cover.
Better yet, they could put it in the checked-in luggage (in a plastic bag or something if you don't have any other checked-in luggage) so that you can't read/show it on the plane (it may make some people nervious[1]), but then you can get it when you pick up your luggage after the flight.
[1] Especially if you look middle-eastern.
