zIWT++: Max Leif Romanus Conrad [Edit: not "Leif Max".]
Born at the Helsinki Midwife Institute Hospital at 07:46 local "Daylight Savings" time (i.e, just under four hours ago as I write this) this morning, 2003-04-17.
4080 g, 51 cm, ten fingers and ten toes -- all the bits that should be there, and none that shouldn't.
It was a fight, a struggle, a terrible ordeal... And it must have been pretty hard on Anki, too! :-) Naah, seriously, all went pretty well -- a fast start, a bit of a slowdown in the middle, but then (thanks to some chemical help) a quick and (relatively speaking) easy conclusion.
So, no -- [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=50202|Europeans aren't going extinct] for a while yet! :-)

The soul and substance of what customarily ranks as patriotism is moral cowardice and always has been...We have thrown away the most valuable asset we had-- the individual's right to oppose both flag and country when he (just he, by himself) believed them to be in the wrong. We have thrown it away; and with it all that was really respectable about that grotesque and laughable word, Patriotism.

How well I remember my own childhood - but - there's something to be said for ritual and convention (though I'm not sure exactly what) - so I'll close my eyes, blank my mind, and say - Congratulations!

Nice close-up
Babies all seem so malleable at first glance but that expression seems almost pensive, even at 4 weeks ?! Could it be, "WTF did I sign-up for, this time!" or just, "why is my gut gurgling?"
Anyway - here's to one more counter to, "The Marching Morons"; no way young Leif could turn out to be a me-too kinda kid.
Thanks for the preview,

Yeah, but it *was* right when I first wrote that.
Anki didn't put on her successful extortion to get them switched around until just before the christening, when he as almost three months.
OK, so that's about six months ago, now... But, hey, by then I had pretty much forgotten about this post!
So, mr Knowitall, when is MY birthday? And, more importantly(*), when is Anki's? :-)

Women are allowed to change their minds.
Actually, from what I've read, men change their mind more often but are unwilling to admit it.
I have missed all clues, if any were given, about your exact birthday. But you will have hit 40 by no later than a day in March of this year.
No idea on Anki's birthday.
Max Lief Romanus Conrad was born 17th of April, 2003. Long may he reign! :)

Sure are. I'm still not completely satisfied with it, though
Because, for one thing, "Max" is common enough in our family -- it's supposed to be in honour of my paternal grandfather, but I also have an uncle Max on Dad's side -- that having it as a second name would be enough. Just like the tyke's cousin Jonathan, my sister Tinka's son, has (IIRC). Also, I wanted to name him for my best friend ever since we were kids, his godfather Leif; now, that looks a little too much like an afterthought for my taste...
Also, IMO, the original order just "scans" better, in speech as well as writing.
Oh well...
No, I hadn't (at least not deliberately) given any hints about my birthday; I just wanted to test your supernatural powers -- HTF *do* you know almost everybody's birthdays like that?!? :-)
FWIW, yes, you're exactly right: I'll hit "the big four-oh"(*) month after next.
And here's one FYI (or TMI :-) : Anki's birthday is on the same day of the month as mine, but a month later. She's exactly thirteen months younger than I.
(*): Decimal.

Wouldn't that make Anki 11 month younger?
Unless she was born in February not April.
Pilkunnussija 'R Us, too! :)
I've recently (in November) turned 40 myself. In hex that is. It's more fun in binary to picture the carry propagation through 111111 to get 1000000. I have a son born in January of the year before you were born and a daughter in June the same year as you. At the time, still trying to figure out what causes babies.
