Because as propaganda - it appears over the top
unless credibly verified.
Also - to illustrate the point about how events can be twisted to propaganda value, take another look at the claimed 'uprising' in Basra. The best evidence to date of anything taking place in the city was the claim of a civil disturbance when the military commander of the city ordered the execution of a leading Shiite. A Shiite army of Southern Iraqi Shia exiles is poised on the Iran Iraq border to sweep into Sth Iraq. Their leader is a popular Iraqi spiritual leader whoose father had been the leading Shiite cleric among the majority Shia (Ayotolla Hakim). This Hakim is the same Shiite leader who the Shia claimed as their leader after the 1991 uprising. He fled to Iran along with many 1000s to avoid the slaughter that followed the Bush Snr admin handing control back to Saddam and his baathist thugs.
