Saddam still funding terrorism
[link|http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20030313/ap_wo_en_ge/me_gen_palestinians_saddam_s_money_3|And there's still "no link"]
Excerpt:
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) has distributed $260,000 to 26 families of Palestinians killed in 29 months of fighting with Israel, including a $10,000 check to the family of a Hamas suicide bomber.
In a packed banquet hall on Wednesday, the families came one-by-one to receive $10,000 checks. A large banner said: "The Arab Baath Party Welcomes the Families of the Martyrs for the Distribution of Blessings of Saddam Hussein."
The money \ufffd handed out by the Arab Liberation Front, which is affiliated with Saddam's Baath Party \ufffd was distributed as the United States tried to get U.N. Security Council support to use military force to disarm Iraq (news - web sites) and oust Saddam, who the United States says supports terrorism.

Bzzzztttt!!!
Incorrect again. ....and oust Saddam, who the United States says supports terrorism. No. What our current regime claims is that there is a link between Iraq and al Queda.

Still think it's link?
Clinton, Clinton, Clinton. Is that all you guys ever think about? Do you see him hiding around every corner? Does he haunt your dreams? I dunno, if I was you I'd probably WANT to forget about the great William Jefferson Clinton. Unlike the current president, he managed peace, prosperity, balanced budgets, lower poverty and child poverty rates, 21 million new jobs, 50,000 new teachers, 100,000 new cops, the lowest crime rate in 25 years, greater worker protections, the highest home ownership rate in history, the protection of Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security... Look at his upper lip.
And you didn't answer the question. Do you think the fact that they share a trait is actually a "link" or did you just misunderstand the meaning of the word?

Interesting question...are Palestines terrorists?
According to George W. Bush - they're probably not (*).
For the most part - Palestinians has limited their attacks solely to Israel. Since Palestine isn't it's own country, it's an internal matter.
Otherwise...those nasty Americans sending money to the IRA might be in trouble. ;-)
And the USA would be guilty of harboring individuals with known ties to terrorism.
* (yes I know of the one attack outside Israel - it occurred in Egypt, iirc).

Those gosh-darned Palestinians, always with the car bombs and hijackings and hooded commandos. If they want to kill noncombatants legitimately, let them use long-range bombers and cruise missiles like normal people.

We need criteria for what defines a "terrorist".
Then we need the SAME STANDARDS for dealing with terrorists.
Or not dealing with them (economically).
And the same charges and punishments for US citizens caught funding or otherwise supporting those terrorists.
Unfortunately, right now, the term "terrorist" is a political label.
