Welcome to IWETHEY!

New No problems so far
I am using IE in 98 to post this. No problems yet.

But I will make a note of it and when I reinstall IE in 98 I will install to a different directory. I hadn't thought about IE being different between the OSes.

Would it be better to install XP to the D: drive instead?

Yes.

Then XP will put *its* Program Files directory on D: and both OSes will be much happier. The first time you run Windows Update on this baby from XP, you'll prolly kill 98.

New Thanks for the tip
as soon as I get my DSL back I will reformat and then put 98 on C: and XP on D:, and not do any XP updates until then.

Live and learn.
