New Right on target here Ash ...
When a leader talks war every day, he sure achieves a whole lot of things ..

- Everyone starts listening
- Everyone gets worked up, some get hysterical
- Most people become emotionally exhausted after a while & want it to end
- The majority of the above would accept the invasion just to end the emotional strain
- After a while, people start to forget basic principles like: rightiousness, justice, freedom, fairness, humanity, peace

Side effects

- That the likes of the militias stop having paranoid delusions about their governement
- That people generally feel a sense of unity
- Religious right get to find a new 'devil' they can focus their paranoia on

Cheers Doug

Generally, isn't this because their paranoid delusions have now become true?
