The Sens are in first place in the East, and tied for most victories in the NHL. Meanwhile, the New York Rangers (my favorite team) can't buy their way into first place with the league's highest payroll at $74M. Hell, they haven't even been able to buy themselves into the PLAYOFFS over the last 4 or 5 years. And more than half (16 of 30) teams in the league make the playoffs.
They've gotta be doing something right up there in Ottawa. Must be the water.
