Well, well...
This was a surprise... I thought it'd be different... It was with the RFPS - Director of Operational Technology. [link|http://www.rockfordschools.org/departments/optech/|RFPS Operational Technology Department]
Nice chatting, nice getting to know you, nice me getting to know them. Next Week I get to have a second interview with the "GANG" for fit... plus I get to have a "Technical" skills assesment...
Oh, I believe it should be child's play. (at least the assesment fo Skils)
Then I get (assuming I do get past the second one) to meet with the Assistant Superintendant, and the Superintendant, as well as the DoOT.
Should start 1st of January should everything go well.
They have a converged network, Data, VOIP, Streaming media instead of a TON of VCR/TV combos. Everything is on DVD or CD. If it isn't the Library gets it there and catalogs it. GB ethernet using VLAN (IEEE-802.1Q Tagging), CoS/Q, not using AVAYA switches (HURRAY!!!!) but [link|http://www.extremenetworks.com/libraries/prodpdfs/products/bd.asp|Extreme BlackDiamond]. That's awesome man!
Nice setup, also have RS6000 with AIX and all that...
Sidenote #1: Sitting here typing, and I can;t figure out where a noise is coming from. My Brittany is sleeping tummy down on the floor and chin on the floor, with front feet splayed out... HE's SNORING!
Sidenote #2: Scott the Corner Bar is still there, and the chili-dogs aren't what they used to be.
Sidenote #3: No Peter I didna Fart *IN* the interview... made sure I relieved myself, passing in-front students... oh the HOWLS...
Sidenote #4: Arkadiy, If I take off this MASK... I'd never get hired... People would die in front of me... ;)
Sidenote #5: Almost broke my leg walking upto the Dern school. Sheets of ICE cause of the "Shine-on/SHine-off" effect of the weather lately.
Sidenote #6: *ALMOST* had a close encounter of the "Twirlly Red-Light on top of the Royal Blue Car" Kind today... Wasn't me he was after... three people in front of me... Sheesh...
Sidenote #7: I know, enough of the sidenotes.

Enjoy the interviews
The technical one will indeed be a piece of cake. As for the other, looks like a pleasant lot. If the people are as nice as the pictures, you will do fine at that as well.
Cheers, Ben

Good luck on your interviews.
I was acquainted with Jon Kramer (listed on the people page to which you linked) when he was working for Fairfax County Public Schools here in No. Virginia.

Schweet... Morganek... need some info please!!!
Mike what is your Last name to be sure I don't screw up? Morganek? or somthing else?
Also, what did he do at Fairfax? School System Application Specialist?
Who was his Boss?
This'll throw him for a loop as he is one of the "Gang"...
I like every advantage I can get, even if it'll be a hands down decision. Any personal info you know... his parents live there? I know, getting to close... ;)
Can I tell him you said "HI"?
I guess I need his dossier!!! ;-)

What few details I have are on their way in email.
-Mike
[Edit adds the following:]
P.S. It would be great if you could say, "Hi!" to him for me. Also, I forgot to mention in my email that my last name is pronounced just like "organic".
