iwethey.employed--
I've resumed my copious free time status. Serious interest in bioinformatics, wondering if anyone else is pursuing this area.

Can you say what happenned?
i.e. did you walk or were you pushed, as the line goes? It was apparant you were less happy there than you thought you would be.

Dang.
I just had an annual review, and I was rather surprised at how favorably it turned out. I've been in the hospital a couple of times this year (10 days one time), been blurry on medication sometimes, and my manager appears to have cut me a great deal of slack on it.
Now, I might have expected *some* latitude, but he rated me much higher than I personally would have rated myself.
Well, at least for a while, I'm still employed. :-)

sucks
You need an obvious link to your resume on the 1st few lines of you home page.
Yes, I know it is in the 2nd paragraph in parens, but it is not EASY to see.
Add it to your top level 'HOME' 'MAIL' links.
Are you stuck in your current location (house, etc)? Yeah, I know it's a wonderful place to actually live, but are you willing to move for a job?
I do NOT have one open for your skill set at this point, but I'd be able to use you in a split sysadmin / SAS position. So I'd pitch for a new position to hire you.
But I don't want to go through the headache to find that you would not truly consider moving out to the Philly area.
I doubt we are offering relo at this point, though, since it is not like we are starving to fill are current position.

Actually, I'm safe until June
Its a twisty story but the manager holding this place together tendered his resignation and was instead granted every condition he wanted to stay. So I'm not screwed - but I'm still looking for something in San Diego area (want to get my boat back).
Karsten - BioInfo is hot in San Diego - suggest you focus there.
I am out of the country for the duration of the Bush administration. Please leave a message and I'll get back to you when democracy returns.
