Seen it, laughed, ignored it
I love the popups and banners that still use Win3.1-style borders.

Do you work at a Helldesk?
Do you know how many times people have freaked when they saw that message and called me?
Let's just say I'd like to find the guy who did that, and spend some 'quality time' with a blowtorch and him.
End of world rescheduled for day after tomorrow. Something should probably be done. Please advise.

Re: Heh - but "popunder"? whazzat?
A "popunder" is a window that comes up *underneath* the main browser window, so you don't see it until you close the browser. (or unless you happen to notice it on your task list.)

... and they're rather less effective in an MDI browser. :-)
Since they're not "real" windows like in an SDI browser.

I thought it was ...
[link|http://www.ubersoft.net/d/20010326.html|This one] or [link|http://www.ubersoft.net/d/20011024.html|this one] or [link|http://www.ubersoft.net/d/20020531.html|this one].
Actually I thought it was the one about the popup that the user couldn't get out of his head but I can't find that one.

All these 'Windows Errors' look pretty funny on my Mac.
At least, they would if I allowed Moz to do unrequested pop-ups...

You think they look funny on a Mac...
You should see what they look like on my Warp desktops.

It's not like these guys are accustomed to the idea of working for a living.

Hah.
Could never happen. I'm running WindowMaker here. Can any browser tell the web server just what my page decorations look like? Not in a pink fit! :-)
