It's obv about the EULA!

Anything pre-SP3 for W2K is 'freer' of spyware (unless you count the NSA and whatever other back-doors infest already).

Install SP-3 and you give 'formal' permission for all future intrusions, neither scheduled nor afterwards acknowledged (if I read that POS Surrender Terms correctly).

Let them intensify this, and as soon as possible! - what better advt. for OO or Open- anything. C'mon Billy - show us what you Really Think. Oh and: anyone who buys this new incarnation deserves the Full BillyCo Rape - on Tee Vee live. Maybe on Home Box Orifice.
