Once again, IWT.employed++
OK, so the job in Louisville of over a month ago fell through. Act of Congress or somesuch.
That has recently been replaced by a new position. "Recently" being today.
On Sunday, I leave for Frankfurt, Germany for 7 weeks of hands-on training. December 20th, I shall return to Chicago, freshly-trained on installation and customization of software for 724 Solutions. Wireless, web-based banking application for use on your cell phone/PDA.
100% travel required. Worldwide. Passport required. Installations have previously been done in England, Australia, Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, etc. Contracts have recently been signed with companies in Japan, Korea, Turkey, and elsewhere.
This is a big step. Wish me luck. If anyone wants to attempt to make plans to meet while I'm over there, email is mvitale42 at yahoo dot com.

/me is horribly jealous
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up the wife and kids for anything. But I wish I had done something like that before I settled down.

Re: /me is horribly jealous
That's exactly why I'm doing it. I'm young, I'm single, and there's no better time in my life to do something like this. Can't wait. I just hope I'm able to report back good things from all over. Cameras are a good thing. :)

Appropriate Voltaire quote
Let's explore. If we do not find anything pleasant we will at lest find something new. So don't be as worried about reporting good things, as long as you can report new things.

Unfortunately, no. :( And I was planning on having a whole bunch of friends (from the AIDSRide, mostly) over for Thanksgiving.
Instead, it sounds like one of my friends from Chicago is actually going to be in Frankfurt that weekend, so I'll get to spend some time with her. Of all the coincidences. :)

One more thing.
Remember what we discussed.
Sausages.
Beer.
Buxom blonde beer wenches.
And the interaction of the above three.

You got the order wrong
It's:
Buxom blonde beer wenches.
Beer.
Then sausage.

Six of one...
...half a dozen of the other. When the three intermix that closely, the order gets all jumbled up anyway. :)

Doubt you could do something more er propitious.
Whatever you run into - has gotta be 10x more useful impressions than any academic course you might take. And the highlights will be a part of permanent memory (everyone.. sez - later on).
Congrats on a wise choice.
