However, you didn't list a client for Mac OS X. (At least, the Mac client link you gave appears to be a pre-X version.)
I grabbed Fire, a free OS X messaging app that does AIM, Jabber, ICQ, etc.

So far, it seems to work okay. However, iChat is built on top of the Jabber protocol so as soon as it can interoperate I'll switch from Fire.
