Once you know you can determine if it realistic to try avoiding whatever is causing these symptoms or take the series of shots that builds up immunity to the allergen. The shots work. Her HMO supplied doc always blew off her complaints and said she was just getting a "low grade cold" all the time. She finally switched doctors on my advice and got one who actually investigated the complaints. Bingo. Allergic to cat dander. Not a chance in hell of her getting rid of her cat so she went for the shots. Started out as 2 shots a week for 3 months, then once a week for 4 months then one very other week and so on.
