Consider a 4k TV, assuming your graphics card can handle 4k.
I got one of these last November for $350. I previously had a setup with a stand with 4 ea (2x2) 24" 1080P monitors (for 2 PCs and a Mac). This is a decent replacement and much easier on my neck.
Beware, though, that there are compromises because they don't have default settings for "PC" mode for this particular model (which is no longer available). You might have to do a lot of fiddling to have good contrast with text, etc., if you're thinking about something similar. I don't have any problem using it for 6+ hours a day.
If you plan on doing accurate photo editing, you may need to spend much more to get something calibrated.
We have a zillion Dell monitors at work. They seem fine and that's probably a safe choice (but look at the reviews).
