Fruit flies. Help me. Please.
So these little m************ are everywhere. I invited them in by creating an Alice's restaurant scenario of throwing garbage down in a room until I arranged for garbage pickup or took it to the dump. I took it to the dump and arranged for future pickup but now I have fruit flies.
I have no open food. I have no apples or potatoes or things that you think you can leave out for a while out in the open. I have no open liquids but it when I wash dishes it drips there. I assume they're living in the drains and I'll have to poison those. They love the bottle of tequila and I make sure I wash the shot glass out after every usage. I have a lid on my garbage can.
I have to do some type of whole house poisoning. I have a cat. So I have to remove her from the house while it happens or I have to do it in stages and that might not work.
What are my alternatives?

Fly paper still works.
https://www.amazon.com/Kitchen-Sticky-Ribbon-Catcher-Strips/dp/B08BC3QZ5K/I used that brand for some weird moth like things in the basement. Worked well. Claims to work for fruit flies too and I see no reason why it wouldn't. It takes a while (maybe a week or more). It's unsightly. But it works and doesn't stink. I haven't purchased them on Amazon. I think I got them at Lowes or HD. HTH a little. Good luck! Cheers, Scott.

Stop copying URLs like some frigging 120-yo grandma. The first fifth or so of that one was enough.

Apple cider vinegar with dish soap
Sweet vinegar draws them in, the soap prevents them from breaking free of the liquid.

How do I measure it?
Cup of vinegar and a couple drops of soap? Teaspoon? Give me percentage of one versus the other for me to start and then I will adjust higher or lower as needed, please.
And I killed 50 or so, so far, so this is a good start.

I've seen one or two in the last day or so
Thousands drowned in the variety of cup sucks sprinkled around the house. This simply works.
