Hold in the button, light the pilot and hold down for the required time. You let it up and the pilot goes out. The Russians have hacked your gas supply - it's now laced with CO2.

Lots of gas quick. Turned it of quick evacuated a sensible mount of time. Taped the valve in the shut position so it could not be dislodged accidentally. It fired and worked as it should.
